Nina Webb Memorial Paddle Club Championship
Sat/Sun, April 13 & 14
The club is running the Nina Webb memorial paddle club championship again this year. The date to save is Sat/Sun, April 13, 14. Last year's event was a great success with fun, spirited competition with the following finalists.
Mixed: Kate and Dave Barlow def Kara McKeever and Brian Grady
Women's: Annie Janeway and Julia Korkus def Kristin Close and Allison MacCormack
Men's: Kevin Mabey and Dave Barlow def Bear Barns and Charlie Shepard
While last year the whole tournament happened on one day (a Sunday), this year, depending on registrations, some play may have to occur on Saturday or an agreed day before Sunday. On the registration you'll see a column for any schedule notes for your team. Please know that Sunday will be a must-be-there day . . . Also please know, unless the weather is predicted to be really miserable, this will be a rain or shine event.
There will be mixed, women's and men's doubles categories.
As you consider your partner, please know, at least in the men's draw, it is customary for "A" level players to pair with players outside of your regular group (you know who you are). Given the high level of competition last year in the women's and mixed draws, there are no suggested partner arrangements for these draws.
