Court bookings - when you sign up for a court you will get an email that the court was booked and a followup email the day before as a reminder that you have an upcoming reservation. This will serve as a good reminder to cancel your reservation if you are not using the court that week. The only downside is that you get more emails. This will be an issue with setting up the contract times - for now i am going to appoint and use the captain of the various contracts instead of listing all players. This will cut down on everyone getting lots of emails. Since we book the contracts thru April the captains will get a notification of all the dates when i set them up - you will just need to delete the emails

I have listed below some instructions and frequently asked questions that may help with the set up process and some items. There may be some additional functions that this system can provide but initially I am recommending that we focus on getting set up with your profile and login. (ex the game match function )

As noted below DO NOT use the Setup button as this creates a new account - always go in thru your Login

First steps

Where to log in?
- Your account has already been set up for you - please do NOT click “Sign Up”
- On the web: https://norwichracquetclub.playbypoint.com/users/sign_in Click Login.
- On mobile: Download the Playbypoint app. Click LOGIN.
- Username: the email address at which you received your Playbypoint notice
- Password: tennis (all lower case)
What’s the first thing I should do once I receive my new-account email?
- Change your password
  - You will not get a prompt for this - just do this:
  - Click the person icon at upper right, then Profile, the Change Password on the left
    - If Playbypoint doesn’t like your password, try using a long one that is all letters and numbers, with no special characters.
- Edit your profile to ensure required fields (with a red star) are present and correct
  - Click the person icon at upper right, then Profile, then Edit Profile:
    - Phone - set both phone numbers - ok to put cell phone in both
      - Turn on “PUBLISH PHONE INFORMATION ON PROFILE” to allow people to call or message you; otherwise they can only email.
    - Birthday - can be fake, but it has to be set to a real date
    - Address - enter your address
    - If you still have trouble, contact David ([email protected] ) for help

- That was this system’s previous name

What’s the schedule for going live with Playbypoint?
- Week of Jan 2: Practice with Playbypoint so we’re all fluent
- Week of Jan 9: Use TennisBookings to book dates to Jan 14, and Playbypoint for Jan 15 onward
- Jan 15 on: Use Playbypoint for all bookings

Wondering what courts are open? When you’re booking a court, times that have passed are not shown. Times when no court is free are shown in red, so you can click on them to join the Waitlist. You can also click the tiny “View Calendar” to see current bookings:

If I select a booking time and then click another one, I get an error message
- Click the time you’ve selected in order to unselect it, then select the new time

How do I indicate Singles, Doubles, etc?
- Singles: select 1 player. Doubles: select 2.
- Finding Partners: try Game Match
- Still researching other ideas

How do I change a booking?
- Open the reservation
- Click the pencil to change the number of people and add players
- Click the trash can to remove that player

What about Finding Partners?
- Try Game Match: when we book a court, say for singles, we get an option to “Enable Game Match”. When you click it, you see

- You can then invite specific players.
- Also, everyone else sees a list of Game Match options on their home page, and can join.
- That’s all we know about it so far.
How do I get notified of a booking?
- Click the Home button at the top
- On the upper left, by your name, click the Gear, then Profile
- Click Notification Options
- You can select whether to get an email or a Push notification to the mobile app, or both (SMS is not currently available)
- On your phone, you may want to adjust the phone’s notification settings for the Playbypoint app

Guests

How do I add a guest? (payment is not up and running yet)
- Select the Guest user, then enter their name and click Save

How do we keep track of guests to remind them they can only play 2/month?
- Still researching this

Following & Friends

You can “Follow” people, which makes them your “Friends” in Playbypoint. This makes it easier to book a court with them. As far as we know, this is all it does - no other information about you is shared than your name, NTRP, and contact info - just the info people need to book a court with you. This info is already available to all members via the published Member List.
When you go to book a court, and you click to add players, your friends (those you follow) automatically come up in the list so you don’t have to do a global member search from the database. On a phone it looks like:
